Persevere and Press Toward the Mark in Love Part 1

September 27, 2016

Are you prepared to immediately recover and get back up on your two feet to work on completing the task God had instructed you to do in the past that previously failed during your first attempt of completing it?

Will you still choose to love, to trust God and persevere when things do not work out the way you thought they would?

Are you willing and ready to risk all you have to free fall completely into the will of God for your life no matter the cost?

Holy Spirit released into my heart a message about the importance of pressing into Christ during this faith journey called life. The truth is, there is actually no need to fear when stepping out in faith to do the will of your Heavenly Father; you were born for this! There’s nothing scary about taking risks in obeying God’s instructions because it’s actually the only way we will see the promises of God unfold in our lives and we would truly experience and live the life of abundance and fruitfulness He has prepared for us in advance in Jesus Christ. You see, you have nothing to lose but all of Christ to gain when you step out in faith to press deeper into His truth and love and obey His commands. The Lord spoke to me gently saying:

“This is the season of pressing forward in love. It is My love that enables you to press forward. My love is the driving force which will propel you forward into a new season. They will know you by your love. It’s come up higher time beloved. Come up higher in My love. From the place of my love will flow the rest and peace and strength you need to press forward. I will teach you how to walk in the path of love that I have laid before you beloved. It is an unshakable and unchangeable path. For I never change beloved. I’m the same yesterday, today and forevermore. I see; I understand I know; I am with you I will never leave you empty handed or in a place of defeat. You are victorious; you are an overcomer; you are My child. You have my DNA of indestructibility. Be fierce and bold in the face of the enemy and do not be afraid to press into my love and presence. The breakthrough you need this day is found in My loving presence says the Lord. Come up higher beloved.”

Pressing into the love of Christ through prayer, worship, and praise and believing and declaring God’s word is a strategy for staying refreshed in our spiritual walk, persevering in accomplishing our purpose and also a strategy for unlocking the beautiful treasures God desires to reveal to His beloved children. The action of pressing forward is vital for our walk as believers in Christ because it is the only way in which we can fully receive all that God has in store for us.  This is why Paul spoke so passionately about pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. It wasn’t easy for Paul but He knew that pressing was essential for him to reach His ultimate goal which was the high calling of God in Jesus Christ. As believers in Christ, we should all have the same mindset and ultimate goal as Paul did which was based on the higher call in Jesus Christ; this is the ultimate mark and prize we must press toward achieving.

Your Gifts and visions from God are not for your benefit

Every vision, goal and purpose God has given us for life here on earth all leads up to the ultimate goal which is the high calling in Jesus. Every gift dream and vision you have from God is not for your benefit but rather for the equipping and preparation of others for the high call in Christ Jesus. Just as the gifts and visions of others have inspired and encouraged you to persevere in your walk with Christ so is your gift and vision for encouraging someone else to persevere in their walk with Christ. So do not underestimate or take for granted the unique visions and gifts God has given to you because they are all vital for the equipping and encouragement of others for living a life of purpose, perseverance and fulfillment through Christ here on earth in preparation for the high call in Christ. Do not be selfish with your gifts; they are to share with others and to save lives from destruction and captivity of the enemy. Let God’s love empower you to love others and to give freely the gifts that He has so graciously bestowed upon you.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”. (Ephesians 2:8)

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

“Freely you have received; freely give.” (Matthew 10:8)

You cannot give up now on your vision and goals…

Walk in Faith Towards Your Goals

Paul also knew that he was equipped for pressing and persevering' because He received the revelation from God that in Christ all things are made possible.

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)

“I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

You can’t just desire access to new realms in God’s Spirit, desire to see your vision accomplished or desire a deeper relationship with God without working towards having that desired fulfilled. The Bible says that faith without works is dead. This is why it is so integral for us as believers to take the next step in going beyond our desires and feelings to actually working towards seeing our goals accomplished.

You Were Not Created to Work Alone

God never designed it for us to work alone. We were designed to partner, co- work or co- labor with God to accomplish His will within the earth. It’s not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit of God Who will enable you to press. God has already enabled us and equipped us to accomplish ALL things by His Spirit. He now needs you to walk everything out by faith and complete the tasks He has laid out before you.

“For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.” (1 Corinthians 3:9) KJV

“For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” (1 Corinthians 3:9) NIV

Pressing and persevering in Christ is important for the believer to practice in this season. Your season of acceleration is just a few steps away in which you will see the promises of God manifested very quickly in your life. However,  if you’re not completing those tasks that God has instructed you to do in preparation for your season of promise then how will you see the fruits manifest from seeds which were never planted?

This walk in Christ will always require us to be loved by God, to love others, to press and to activate our faith! We have so much potential and greatness locked away in us that God is so passionate about bringing out of us. There is always more to learn and to discover; more to develop and to create. Don’t stop seeking God. Don’t stop trying. Don’t stop obeying His instructions no matter how small or large they may appear to be. Refuse to be distracted by your critiques. “Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2). Refuse to give up. You’re on the brink of a miracle.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)

You can’t be casual with your press; you must press. You are equipped to press by the Spirit of God. You are an over -comer…
